Vagelis, Hamilton
Today I am 31, I guess seeing yesterday was my birthday, I was 31 then too.
Having the day off work, Mum (who's down visiting for a week) and I headed off to breakfast at Vagelis at Hamilton (www.vagelis.com.au). It seems that I may have finally found a decent cafe for breakfast.
I ordered the vegetarian eggs benedict, while Mum settled for the sunshine sandwich. My meal was fabulous. Two English muffins topped with roasted capsicum, roasted eggplant and onions. Layered on top were two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Just scruptumious!!! Mum's excitingly named sunshine sandwich was a bacon and egg sandwich on turkish bread. Besides the eggs being a little too much on the runny side for her liking she still declared it a hit.
Would happily recommend this little establishment, service was good except for having to ask for water. Batista who I paid my bill to at the end, was very chatty and friendly.
From there we headed out to DFO, with a heart not really in the mood for shopping after a filling breakfast we wandered around the shops, our only purchase being two dresses for me at Jacqui E.....one I'd had my eye on for a little while marked down to $49 from over $100.
We then proceeded to Chermside, mainly so Mum could marvel at how much the centre had changed since the last time she had been there many years ago. Some more purchases from Big W and Goldmark followed......then it was time to head home for a nap.
Am now just whiling away the many hours before the 9.45pm netball game tonight. Gave K a call but am starting to discover I have a more meaningful relationship with his voicemail than with him perhaps......since there wasn't even a text from him for my birthday, am thinking that the move to Melbourne will essentially end our little tryst.
