What was I thinking.....

Why do I insist on drinking red wine. Its all good when its happening but the the new morning, YUK. Like some feral cat from a vineyard has slept in my mouth. And then there's the insessant hungover eating.....now feel sick as simply started eating and couldn't stop. Hopefully a shower will fix me up.

Yawn....

Not much to report, am still a bit flu-y which is knocking me round a bit. Work while not being full on is meeting after meeting a quite tiring. Looking forward to catching up with the netball team on Friday night for some drinks should be a good night out so long as I can kick this flu. Advice from Doctor today is that I'm not that sick and should just take panadol. Hmmmm

The Heat is on.....

Well it's stinking....apparently a storm tonight, not much of a breeze around so its damn hot. Assume that I am also more hot due to the fact that I just vacumned and mopped the whole house. Have every window open but.....well.....nothing.

Not much to report really, I still haven't managed to get back into the swing of things. Still want a nanna nap at about 3pm in the afternoon, not having much work to do doesn't help. Still haven't managed to get up the guts to go to group or boxing and face Ron.....might wait till FFM comes back from hols, safety in numbers and all that.

Managed to catch up with C over the weekend (this is the guy I met on NYE, don't want to give him a silly name yet like I've given all the other......hmmmm.....Bus Boy, Church Boy, Bike Boy etc etc etc....the list goes one, coz have always found that as soon as I give them a name it's all over......so he can be just C for now). It was good we just chilled and watched DVDs and the fantastic river view from his apartment. Was extremely impressed to discover that he actually reads, seems so long since I have dated a guy who reads something more substantial that Ralph or Picture and the sports section of the newspaper......very refreshing! Even asked me for recommendations as he wanted to start a new book. Not sure if there's any future here (you'll know as soon as there's not as he'll get a name, in fact have one picked out but am unwilling so say it out loud......hopefully simply thinking of a silly name is not enough to hex the whole thing).

Must remember at some point to catalogue these name as there's always a funny and/or tragic tale to go with.

Review - La Qunita Cafe y Bar

On Thursday night both I and the faithful flatmate (FFM) trundled off to Bulimba for some Mexican. The establishment was fairly full for a school night but just seemed to lack a bit of atmosphere for some reason.

We started the night with a Chocolate Margarita each...Tequila, Kahula, cream and oreos. However, while the drinks were very tasty, there was no sign of an oreo anywhere.

I had chicken fajitas......two enormous tortillas, with great marinated chicken, capsicum and onion, topped with cheese, sour cream and guacomole, served with rice. Was really great and forced myself to finish it.

FFM ordered chicken enchiladas which came with guacomole and salad. She left a third of an enchilada on her plate but proclaimed them to be very good but filling.

La Quinta seemed a little pricey for mexican with main meals around $21-23, but with the good old entertainment voucher the night worked out just over $20 each, not bad for a good feed and a sexy margarita.

Roll on 2007

What an absolutely way to bring in the new year!!!! NYE 2007 is on record as being the my all time top NYE's so far.

Had some peeps over for drinks and nibbles in the early evening. Lots of good fun and laughs. Then walked to catch the city cat to eagle street. Once at eagle street accidently hopped on wrong ferry putting us at Southbank instead of Thornton Street. Was forced to have fabulous view of kiddies 9pm fireworks from the ferry platform.

We then hopped back on the ferry and finally made it to the SBH at about 10pm, walked in and managed within 15mins to have great spot with seats at the bar. We weren't particularly harrassed by any knobs all evening.

When SBH closed at 2am, caught the free bus to the Valley, ended up a Dooley's, it was actually pretty quiet. But had a great time and met some fun people. Even got a new year's shag! Yay for me.

So onward with 2007, a year that will see me:
  • ...not continue to form emotional attachments to any of the following alcoholics, workcoholics, commitment phobics, peeping toms, meglamaniacs, emotional f*ckwits or perverts (thanks Bridget)
  • give up smoking.......man I am so fanging for a cigarette right now
  • save oodles of $ towards my house deposit; and
  • lose 10 kgs......at least
  • blog more regularly

Well at least the year has started awsomely (if that's even a word)

PS: New year means a new look blog template.....hope you like.....
